PLAY ON PRODUCTIONS

Play On Productions is a young people’s theatre co-operative dedicated to inspiring and engaging young people and new audiences to connect with classical plays. We collaborate with cultural venues, schools and creative industry professionals to place accessibility, innovation and excellence at the heart of our artistic offer.

We are delighted to be Artist in Residence at Sussex Community Development Association.

Project Romeo and Juliet provided much needed opportunities for our young people to make informed choices about their future - Baroness Janet Whitaker

As the local Member of Parliament for Newhaven I would like to give my full support to Play On’s Project Romeo and Juliet Newhaven with its fantastic aims and objectives - Maria Caulfield MP

What an amazing performance! The professionalism of the team of actors was incredible. The production intriguing, such a novel idea. We talked about the evening to everyone we met. Audience Member - Romeo and Juliet

I found the show tremendously exciting and moving. Seems to me a exemplar of what "youth theatre" at its absolute best should be - cherishing the canonically great yet also making it new. Martin Nichols - Senior Examiner for AQA English

Project Macbeth culminated in a production at Theatre Peckham, which was performed beautifully by the young cast of 17 actors to exceptional production standards. To see the joy in their performances and sense the eager audience reactions is to understand the importance of projects such as this, not just in engaging the whole community but also in breaking down barriers to access Shakespeare and the classics. For Cheek by Jowl, a key part of our mission is making classic texts more accessible, which aligns perfectly with the ideals of Play On Shakespeare. Niamh O'Flaherty - Former Executive Director - Cheek by Jowl
